The Padmanabhaswamy temple is a Hindu temple located in Thiruvananthapuram, India. The name of the city of Thiruvananthapuram in Malayalam translates to “The City of Lord Ananta”, referring to the deity of the Padmanabhaswamy temple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Across the world, the Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple<\/strong> is renowned for its beauty and grandeur. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, it is one of the 108 sacred Vishnu temples<\/strong> or ‘Divya Deshams’ in India. The great<\/strong> King of Travancore, Marthanda Varma is said to have done the renovation work that we see today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sabarimala<\/strong> is an important pilgrim town located within a forest reserve, famous<\/strong> for the Sabarimala<\/strong> Sree Ayyappa Dharma Sastha Temple, that attracts more than 30 million pilgrims annually, making it the largest in India and second largest in the world, after Haji Pilgrimage of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One legend says that Lord Ayyappa<\/strong> does not<\/strong> receive menstruating women<\/strong> in the temple<\/strong> in honour of Malikapurathamma \u2013 a lady-demon who was defeated by the Lord after which she proposed marriage to him. The Lord had set the condition that he would marry her the day devotees stop visiting him at Sabarimala<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ATTUKAL BHAGAVATHY TEMPLE:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Attukal pongala is Celebrated at the\u00a0Attukal<\/strong>\u00a0Bhagavathy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram, India,\u00a0Attukal Pongala<\/strong>\u00a0is a ten-day festival during which millions of women gather on a ninth day and prepare a spiritual food made of rice in clay or earthen pots and offer it to the goddess of the temple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goddess Bhadrakali, mounted over ‘vethala’, is the main deity in this temple. Bhadrakali, a form of Mahakali, who killed the demon king Daruka, believed to be born from the third eye of lord Shiva. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

AMBALAPUZHA SREE HRISHNA TEMPLE :<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
