The lake has a history related to dream, Kempe Gowda a ruler of the Vijaynagar Empire, was passing by this place which was a forest area then, he sat down under a tree and turns out that was the same tree where Madava Rishi worshipped God Someswara. One night the Lord appeared in Kempe Gowda’s dream and gave him hints about the hidden treasure in this place<\/a>. he dug up for the treasure and built the Someswara Pagoda using that treasure. The lake was created in this process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
